Swim Meet: Bryce
Swim Meet is a conversation series with members of our Crew – the community of local guides and water safety experts who are integral to creating our network of cross-country swimming routes throughout the UK and beyond.
In this edition, we meet Bryce Davis who runs Swim Wild Wales.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi, I’m Bryce and I’m a Qualified Level 2 Open water coach and open water swimmer currently living in Cardiff, Wales.
I love swimming, and my passion is exploring the coastal waters, lakes and rivers of Wales (and occasionally further afield). I love the adventure of exploring new areas and discovering beautiful places to swim. Seeing the landscape from the water provides a whole new perspective to your environment, and is a constant inspiration.
I began coaching open water swimming as an extension of my own passion for adventurous swimming, and to encourage others to also share the huge positive impact that OWS can have on your physical and mental health.
Whether you are taking your first steps into the world of open water swimming and looking to build confidence and knowledge, are training for an event and want to brush up on your open water technique, or would like a guided tour of local swim spots and how to swim them safely, I can help. Every session is geared to your own personal needs. Just let me know what you’d like to achieve.
The water is for everyone, and with the right balance of knowledge, ability and respect, it can be enjoyed safely all year round.
In addition to coaching, Bryce is a qualified beach lifeguard and a coach with Whitmore Bay Surf Life Saving club.
